Hi John,

At the end 10.000 people need to get in. But we start small and it must be a
self growing system. So a new person gets in and places him/herself in the
tree by selecting a basic Hierarchy. I would like all new visitors to the
intranet to fill in in what department they are working (sometimes in more
that one!) like Europe-HQ-IT-Development. Next they have to tell who their
boss/manager is. Then we have projects with their structure that needs to
sit next to it.
So picture, name and title are the things you will see in the hierarchy. If
there is a department around a group it will be shown too, like a box around
them with some extra departmental info. I think that will cover "good".

I like the way the Flash site is structured though, it is very nicely done!
I suppose there is not an .fla file around somewhere ;-)

Bastiaan

|Hi Bastiaan,
|
|It all depends on what you mean by a "good" org chart, but if you are
|interested in doing something interesting, try a data driven
|site with a
|Flash front end (e.g. XML, web services and Flash).
|
|For example, the supreme example of the Anti-org chart...
|
|http://www.theyrule.net/
|
|Just out of interest, how many people are to go on it and do you want
|pictures?

|Hi All,
|
|I'm would like to create a very good orgchart on my companies
|intranet. Does
|someone have any experience to make this look good? Is there
|some cms-s that
|take this into account?
|
|Otherwise I'm thinking of programming it in combination with
|javascript/dhtml and our database.
|
|thanks,
| Bastiaan
